Thank you for your interest in our practice. We look forward to providing the best possible dental care for you and your family. We are currently accepting new patients and invite you to call our office to set up an initial appointment.
We hope that the information presented here will help to answer some questions that you may have and help to make your first appointment proceed as smoothly as possible.
Prior to your visit with us, think about what your main concerns are and what you would like to achieve.

Part of our new patient appointment includes a dental history or "interview" that aims to answer many of these questions. We hope to get to know you and your desires, expectations and dental needs.
What To Expect At Your First Visit
Your first appointment with us will be scheduled with one of our hygienists and aims to achieve the following goals:

Get to know you, your expectations, desires and concerns. |

Collect information about the condition of your teeth, gums, jaw joint, and surrounding tissue and bone. This is completed through a series of painless standardized examinations, tests and measurements designed to reveal any dental problems that you may have. |

Obtain any pertinent radiographs. If you have been seen by another dentist recently, they may have radiographs that will be of use during your exam. You can call their office and have them send copies of your radiographs or we would be happy to call on your behalf. |
Note: If you are currently experiencing a painful dental condition and you would like to have this problem addressed immediately, please let our Scheduling Coordinator know when you call, as we may appoint you to evaluate only this problem and complete the steps above at a later appointment.
What If I Need Treatment?
Following this visit, possibly on the same day or at a separate appointment, you will be examined by Dr. Glazener and a treatment plan will be generated. All dental conditions will be thoroughly explained through the use of intraoral camera pictures so that you will have a firm understanding of the problems, treatment options and any risks and/or benefits of such treatment.
In the vast majority of cases, you will not be scheduled to have your teeth cleaned at this initial appointment. Your hygiene appointment is only scheduled after you have been examined to determine your gum health and an appropriate diagnosis has been made. An initial hygiene appointment can be very routine or a much longer and more detailed session depending on your current dental condition. We cannot know this until you are seen by Dr. Glazener at our Winston-Salem dental practice.

Below is a list of information that we will request at your first appointment. Please review this list as it may help you when you arrive.
List of all current medications and pertinent medical history information. Our medical history form is available below. You may print it out and complete it before you arrive or simply review it and fill it out at your appointment.
Copies of any current x-rays (less than one year old in most cases) from a previous or referring dentist. We would be happy to contact them on your behalf if you desire.
